UPDATE:
Dear Parents and Students,
As summer winds down, it’s time to start planning for the 2020-2021 school year. We will begin our fall scheduled piano lessons the week of August 3, 2020. I will be offering the option of virtual or in-person lessons. Students can continue their lessons online over Zoom, or they can come for face-to-face lessons. You may choose which option is best for your family.
For those choosing to come in person, I will be taking precautions to keep everyone healthy. Only 1 student will be allowed inside at a time. The keyboard and benches will be cleaned after each student. Masks will be required at all times.
At this time, I will be scheduling lessons on Mondays-Thursdays from 3:00-7:30 p.m. By keeping your weekly time slot, you will be able to change from in-person lessons to online lessons as the need arises allowing you more flexibility. For holidays, we will follow the Cobb County Schools calendar. If schools close, we will continue on Zoom with virtual lessons.
Let me know if you want to reserve the time you had last school year or a new time. You then can let me know your preferences on how we see one another, keeping in mind that we can change it.
I look forward to seeing everyone soon!
Warm regards, Lou Lyon
ON COVID-19:
Dear Parents and Students,
With the spread of the coronavirus many of you are trying to stay home as much as possible. To help reduce the risk of spreading the virus and to help families feel comfortable with piano instruction, I will be offering online lessons during the month of March. We will reevaluate after spring break whether or not we will continue with online lessons in April.
At the moment, I can teach the lessons on FaceTime or Zoom. I have used both with students already. You can download the Zoom app on the device of your choice or download on a laptop (zoom.us). (I have heard that it doesn’t work well on a Chromebook). Our Zoom ID is 2328834938. Click on “Join a meeting” and enter the Zoom ID. Next click on “Join” and you will see “Please wait, the meeting host will let you in soon”. When you are admitted you will see “To hear others please join audio by touching “Call using Internet Audio”. You will then see me. Click on “start video” on top or bottom of your page. That’s all there is to it!
I am excited to have an alternative for lessons so that students can continue piano instruction. I am looking forward to hearing from those of you I haven’t already talked to about lessons.
Lou Lyon
